Let the battle commence
The climax of the entire Jump racing season is the Betfred Cheltenham Gold Cup 2013, the highlight of the best day's racing of the year, with an atmosphere to match. In 2012 Synchronised, ridden by perennial Champion jockey AP McCoy, provided trainer Jonjo O'Neill and legendary owner JP McManus with a long awaited first Gold Cup in a brilliantly exciting renewal of the great race. This year, there may be a new name on the roll of honour, but previous winner Long Run, who was third in the race last season, will be battling hard to regain his title. Six other magical races, including two more Grade 1 events and three fiercely competitive handicaps, make this a day to cherish.
Gates open at 10.30am with the first race at 1.30pm and the last race at 5.15pm.
